Educational consulting projects include the development and facilitation of the GRUEN project for Hong Kong Baptist University, co-sponsored by the EU Erasmus+ project. This 2019-20 project mentors secondary students in inter-cultural teams from three regions: the EU (Spain, France, Germany, and the Netherlands), the greater S/E Asia region (India, Indonesia), and Hong Kong. The participants learn about the EU Environmental Action Programme objectives, research the issues and develop criteria for evaluating green cities, and collaborate on the design of ideal Green Urban Environments. I developed a WordPress website, set up and moderated the discussions on a Moodle workshop course, and facilitated a series of Adobe Connect web conferences. I also led the students through an exploration of the SimCity Buildit city-building simulation as an educational design tool, and developed tutorial videos to support their learning:
This project was preceded by the SDG Asia project for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation – RECAP. This 2017-18 project sought to support young visionaries across the Asia region who have ideas which address regional energy security and climate change, articulated in four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. My work supporting this project includes the design and development of a WordPress website, a Moodle workshop course, and setup and facilitation of weekly Adobe Connect web conferences. This project uses educational technology to connect young activists from a wide range of cultures (India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nepal, and Mongolia), support them in developing digital stories, and help them spread their ideas via social media and at UN-sponsored regional conferences.
Other consulting projects include a pilot program with the Hinrich Foundation, developing an online platform to enhance their Trade Negotiation simulations, and operating web conferences to connect the student delegates.
